What does it mean to be strong?
What are we in awe of this week?
We are in awe of the strength of Shane Hawkins. Shane is the son of Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the Foo Fighters, who died of an overdose in March 2022. Shane was only 16 at the time.
Shane paid tribute to his father later that year through a performance of “My Hero” with the band at Wembley Stadium, London.
Shane pours every emotion into this performance. He pelts out his passion, his intensity, and his beautiful sincerity. We witness too, how throughout the performance, David Grohl, lead singer with the Foo Fighters, checks-in on Shane, has his back, and is there for a boy who had only recently lost his father.
At I Am Here, we are feeling moved, hopeful, and stronger for watching this.
Its ok to not feel ok; and it’s absolutely ok to ask for help.

What are we seeing this week?
At I Am Here, we are looking at this image from Liz Fosslien, who is an author, speaker, and Head of Storytelling at Atlassian.
We like the visual because it reassures us of how strong we actually are, in particular when we struggle. The message pays important attention to our journey.
I Am Here is here to offer you help and support in whatever journey you are making – to guide you through the struggles you may experience and assist you in the challenges you may encounter.
Remember, the goal of I Am Here is to change the world; one compassionate connection at a time.
What are we quoting this week?
Dutch watchmaker and writer Corrie ten Boom on worry and how it drains strength:
“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.”
