Do our dreams come true?
This week, we’re asking, “Do our dreams come true?” What do we mean by dreams? We see a dream as a long term goal or ambition that is important to us.
- Do you have a dream or a passion?
- Has your dream come true?
- Has your dream ever changed?
Do we set out in life with a dream of our own? Do we chase someone else’s version of our dream? Is there any pressure on us to dream the “right” dream? Is there any pressure on us to find a passion? Has the failure of one dream worked towards the realization of another one?
What dreams have happened for you? What dreams have yet to happen for you? Have you found your passion in life, or are you still searching for it? At I Am Here, we are open to all of your dreams and passions, or lack thereof.
What are we reading this week?
Dreams, by their nature, can be hard to achieve. Sometimes, we might spend years pursuing our dreams and feel we’re no closer to reaching them. It might be tempting to give up on our dreams.
The following is an article written by Debbie Gisonni, titled “11 Things to Do When Your Dreams Don’t Come True”. In it, Debbie shares discoveries she made when her dreams of becoming a best-selling writer didn’t seem to be coming true.
Did any of Debbie’s advice resonate with you? As always, your feedback and your own experience is welcomed and embraced at I Am Here. Reach out to us on Twitter, LinkedIn, or Facebook to share your own stories.

What are we listening to this week?
Do we know what our passion or dream is? What it is we’re “supposed” to do? Are we failures if we don’t find our passion? Are we allowed to change our passion, our dream?
This week we are listening to Terri Trespicio’s TED Talk, titled “Stop Searching for Your Passion.” Here, she recalls when she left her job at Martha Stewart, and suddenly found herself looking to switch careers.
Terri questions whether we choose our dream, or whether we can accidentally stumble upon our passion.

Have you ever been in the position of not knowing what your dream is? Have you ever been in the position of not knowing where your passion lies? Do you agree with Terri’s viewpoint? Have you walked in her shoes? Let us know.
Who are we quoting this week?
“We have to be brave, and if our dreams get broken along the way, we have to make new ones from the pieces.”
– Derry Girls, Channel 4
This week’s quote comes from the cult TV comedy, Derry Girls. It reassures us that we are allowed to dream. We are allowed to fail. We are allowed to change our dreams, or create new ones, at any time. It’s also ok if we don’t know what our dream is yet. We can discover that along the way.
